The thirteenth edition of the International Film Music Competition will take place at the 21st Zurich Film Festival (October 25 to October 5, 2025).

Each year, the Zurich Film Festival collaborates with Tonhalle-Gesellschaft Zürich AG and Forum Filmmusik to host the International Film Music Competition, inviting composers from around the world to submit original musical scores for a selected short film.

For this year’s edition, composers are invited to create an original symphonic score for WILD LOVE , a short film by Paul Autric, Quentin Camus, Léa Georges, Maryka Laudet, Zoé Sottiaux and Corentin Yvergniaux. This dramatic love story takes a tragic turn following an unexpected accident. Submissions will open at the end of March via the official Film Music Competition website. An expert jury, comprising international professionals from the film and music industries, will select three finalists. Their compositions will be premiered by the Tonhalle Zurich Orchestra at the annual Cinema in Concert event during the Zurich Film Festival. We wish all participants the best of luck!
